FlashForward (Season 1)

FlashForward (2009) is the ABC science-fiction mystery you can watch online on iFILM. One ordinary day every person on Earth blacks out for exactly two minutes and seventeen seconds, glimpsing a fragment of their own life six months ahead.

FBI agent Mark Benford (Joseph Fiennes) saw himself studying a board of clues, so he sets out to find what caused the global blackout while the planet reels from the fallout: thousands of crashes, downed planes, sudden death. His partner Demetri Noh (John Cho) saw nothing at all, and fears that can only mean one thing, that he will not live to reach April. Mark's wife Olivia saw herself with a man who is not him. Everyone now has to choose: chase the vision, fight it, or fall apart under its weight.

The series adapts Robert J. Sawyer's novel, with David S. Goyer among its writers and directors. It ran only one season, so several threads never got their payoff. Still, if you enjoyed the fate-and-puzzle pull of Lost, these 22 episodes are worth the dive. Stream FlashForward online on iFILM.
