Battlestar Galactica (Season 1)
The Last Battlestar Galactica Leads a Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet on a Lonely Quest for a Shining Planet Known as...Earth.
Synopsis
Battlestar Galactica (1978) is NBC's landmark sci-fi series you can watch online on iFILM. Commander Adama rallies the last surviving warship and a ragtag fleet of civilian vessels, pushing deep into uncharted space to escape the Cylons — a cybernetic race that has just obliterated all twelve colonies of humanity.
Tens of thousands of refugees crowd ships never built for long-haul space travel. Lieutenant Apollo and the hotshot pilot Starbuck fly constant combat missions to hold the Cylons at bay, while the fleet chases a faint signal pointing toward a mythical planet called Earth. Lorne Greene, Richard Hatch, and Dirk Benedict lead a cast that made the show a ratings event on arrival.
Creator Glen Larson produced Battlestar Galactica with a budget that broke records for American network television at the time. Universal Pictures built the sets and practical effects at a scale usually reserved for theatrical releases. That original run laid the groundwork for Ronald D. Moore's acclaimed 2004 remake, widely considered one of the finest science-fiction dramas ever made. Stream the 1978 Battlestar Galactica online on iFILM.
