Synopsis
A New York girl-skater crew and one shy newcomer — that's the heart of Skate Kitchen (2018), now available to watch online on iFILM. Eighteen-year-old Camille lives with her mom on Long Island and skates in secret, until a bad injury makes her promise to quit for good.
The promise doesn't last. She finds the Skate Kitchen crew on Instagram — a group of girls who build their whole lives around the board — and for the first time feels like she belongs. Director Crystal Moselle cast a real NYC skate collective: Rachelle Vinberg, Dede Lovelace and Nina Moran essentially play themselves, with Jaden Smith and Elizabeth Rodriguez in support.
