It Takes Two

Amanda is an orphan looked after by Diane, the warm social worker who runs her group home. Alyssa lives in a mansion with her widowed millionaire father, Roger, who's about to marry a sharp-elbowed gold digger. So the girls swap lives. One trades the orphanage for silk sheets, the other for camp bunks, and together they scheme to push Roger toward Diane before the wrong wedding happens.

The hook is real twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen playing strangers, right at the height of their childhood fame. Steve Guttenberg supplies the dad charm, and the whole switched-identity setup tips its hat to The Parent Trap.
