Synopsis

Howie (Aaron Eckhart) clings to home videos and a support group his wife can no longer sit through. Their marriage is fraying. Becca, meanwhile, starts secretly meeting the teenage driver of the car that killed her son — a debut role for a young Miles Teller.
Kidman earned a Best Actress nod at the Oscars for this performance. Mitchell trades melodrama for a dry, almost ordinary register, which somehow makes the loss land harder.
