Synopsis

Rabbit Hole (2010) is an American drama led by Nicole Kidman that you can watch online on iFILM. John Cameron Mitchell directed it from David Lindsay-Abaire's Pulitzer-winning play. The subject is a hard one: a married couple buries their four-year-old son and tries to keep living.

Eight months have passed since the boy chased the dog into the street. Becca (Kidman) channels her grief into cleaning, cooking and a quiet emotional retreat, slowly walling everyone out. Howie (Aaron Eckhart) clings to home videos and a support group his wife can no longer sit through. Their marriage is fraying. Becca, meanwhile, starts secretly meeting the teenage driver of the car that killed her son — a debut role for a young Miles Teller.

Kidman earned a Best Actress nod at the Oscars for this performance. Mitchell trades melodrama for a dry, almost ordinary register, which somehow makes the loss land harder. It isn't an easy night in, but if you want an honest film about grief with no false notes, it stays with you. Stream Rabbit Hole (2010) online on iFILM.
