Synopsis
The Order (2024) is Justin Kurzel's crime thriller, and you can watch it online on iFILM. When a run of brazen bank and armored-car heists hits the Pacific Northwest, worn-down FBI agent Terry Husk, played by Jude Law, follows the money and finds something far uglier than robbery.
The crew isn't in it for cash. Husk pieces together a tight cell of white nationalists stockpiling weapons and rehearsing a strike against the federal government, led by a charismatic true believer named Bob Mathews. Nicholas Hoult plays him as a soft-spoken recruiter selling young men a coming war. Tyler Sheridan is the local deputy caught in between, and the closer Husk gets, the clearer it becomes that watching from a distance won't end this.
The script draws on real history: a domestic terror group by this name operated across Idaho and Washington in 1983 and 1984, and the film leans on the nonfiction account by Kevin Flynn and Gary Gerhardt. Kurzel shoots it cold and lean, refusing to glamorize anyone, while the Law-Hoult standoff gives both actors some of their sharpest screen work. One for viewers who like grim true-crime procedurals in the vein of Zodiac. Stream The Order (2024) online on iFILM.
