Relic

Relic (2020) is the Australian horror film you can watch online on iFILM, the debut feature from director Natalie Erika James. Three generations of one family, a crumbling house in the woods, and something rotting them from within.

Elderly Edna (Robyn Nevin) vanishes from her decaying home without explanation. Her daughter Kay (Emily Mortimer) and granddaughter Sam (Bella Heathcote) arrive to search for her, and then, days later, Edna reappears just as inexplicably, a bruise on her chest and a vacancy in her eyes. Something in her has shifted. So has the house: new rooms surface, the walls blacken, hallways stretch longer than they should. The line between dementia and something otherworldly dissolves.

James isn't after cheap jump scares; she's after the dread of watching a loved one fade. The house is a literal metaphor for memory coming apart.
