Mama

Mama (2013) is Andy Muschietti's supernatural horror film you can watch online on iFILM. Two feral little girls are found in a derelict cabin deep in the woods. Somehow they survived five winters alone out there. Or so everyone assumes.

The sisters, Victoria and Lilly, are taken in by their uncle Lucas and his girlfriend Annabel — a rock bassist who never wanted kids. Jessica Chastain plays her, all black hair and tattoos, while Nikolaj Coster-Waldau pulls double duty as twin brothers. The girls whisper to something in the dark, sketch a crooked figure across the walls, and call it Mama. Whatever followed them home from the forest has no intention of letting go.

The film grew out of a three-minute short that caught Guillermo del Toro's eye; he came aboard to produce the feature. The clawing creature was performed by Javier Botet, an actor with Marfan syndrome whose contorted movement carries the scares with minimal CGI. Stream Mama (2013) online on iFILM.
