Synopsis
Hornblower: Mutiny (2001) is the fifth entry in the acclaimed British TV series — watch online on iFILM. Ioan Gruffudd's Lieutenant Hornblower sails HMS Renown toward the Caribbean with a clear mission: destroy a Spanish stronghold at Santo Domingo.
The real threat is the man giving the orders. Captain Sawyer, played by David Warner, is coming apart — contradictory commands, arbitrary punishment, and a growing suspicion that his own officers are plotting against him. Paul McGann, Robert Lindsay and Philip Glenister play the crew that must calculate whether following Sawyer overboard is worse than the alternative: mutiny, with all it carries in the Royal Navy of 1800.
Based on C.S. Forester's novels, this episode drops the naval spectacle and goes inward instead. Warner's performance is the draw — quiet, cold, genuinely unsettling. Stream Hornblower: Mutiny (2001) online on iFILM.
