Cottage Country

Then his freeloading brother Salinger shows up uninvited, bringing his eccentric girlfriend Masha (Lucy Punch). One argument, one impulsive axe swing, and the romantic weekend becomes an improvised cover-up. Tyler Labine plays Todd's mounting panic with a believable, slightly stunned ordinariness, while Punch turns Masha into something genuinely unpredictable. The film is a crime-comedy of errors — every attempt to tidy things up creates a new problem — and it stays in that gear without overstaying its welcome.
