Synopsis
Gaspard at the Wedding (Gaspard va au mariage, 2018) is a French-Belgian tragicomedy from director Antony Cordier you can watch online on iFILM. Twenty-five-year-old Gaspard has dodged his family for years. His father's new marriage drags him back to the place he grew up: a private zoo full of monkeys and tigers.
To avoid showing up alone, Gaspard talks an offbeat stranger, Laura (Laetitia Dosch), into posing as his girlfriend for the weekend. What follows is three days among the relatives he once fled — a serial-womanizer father, a maddeningly sensible brother, and a sister, Coline (Christa Théret), who turns every head in the room. Félix Moati plays a man who came for the ceremony and got stuck in his own childhood instead.
Cordier is less interested in wedding farce than in a quiet drama about growing up a decade too late. The zoo isn't a gimmick here — it's a way to show a family where everyone has been living in a separate cage. Stream Gaspard at the Wedding (2018) online on iFILM.
