Synopsis

Philip Ashley (Richard Burton) grows up hearing only good things about his guardian. He is not prepared for who actually walks through the door.
Du Maurier built the story around a question she deliberately refuses to answer, and Koster keeps that ambiguity intact. De Havilland navigates every scene so that Rachel could be guilty or completely innocent — equally convincing either way.
