Three men, three generations, three damaged obsessions. A WWII-era orderly whose fantasies spiral well past any acceptable limit. His son Kálmán, a professional competitive eater who devotes his body to excess in a different direction. And a grandson who stuffs animal carcasses in a silence that grows more unsettling the longer you watch. Pálfi stitches all three together without offering any exit from the body — in decay, in competition, in transformation.
Critics reached for Cronenberg as the closest comparison, at about a tenth of the budget. The comedy and the horror run together and you cannot always tell which is which. Stream Taxidermia (2006) online on iFILM.
