Calculator

Calculator (2014) is a Russian sci-fi thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Dmitry Grachev and adapted from Alexander Gromov's novella, it drops ten convicted criminals onto the hostile planet XT-59 with a single instruction: walk or die.

The only route to the Islands of Happiness — the planet's one survivable zone — cuts through the Sargasso Swamp. Ervin (Evgeny Mironov), a former official who reads situations like equations, breaks from the group with a woman named Kristi (Anna Chipovskaya). The rest follow at their own pace and for their own reasons. Vinnie Jones rounds out an ensemble that plays the whole thing as a cold attrition exercise, not an action set-piece.
