Synopsis
Wrinkles (Arrugas, 2011) is a Spanish hand-drawn animated film for grown-ups that you can watch online on iFILM. Emilio, a retired bank manager, is dropped off at a nursing home just as the first signs of Alzheimer's begin to surface.
His roommate Miguel is a sly old hustler who has spent years quietly fleecing the other residents for small change. Cynical at first, he decides to help Emilio stay lucid and out of the dreaded upstairs ward — the floor reserved for the people everyone here writes off as lost causes. Their scheme turns the gray routine of the home into something that feels alive again.
Director Ignacio Ferreras adapted Paco Roca's acclaimed graphic novel, and the result picked up two Goya Awards, for Best Animated Film and Best Adapted Screenplay.
