The Marquis

The Marquis (Le Marquis, 2011) is a French comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Thomas Gardesse sells alarm systems, gets arrested for a petty offence, and lands in a cell with serious criminals. His fix: announce himself as the Marquis, the legendary con artist so careful that no one has ever seen his face.

It works. Career criminal Quentin (Richard Berry) breaks Thomas out and flies him to the Philippines for a job that needs exactly the skills Thomas is faking. Franck Dubosc plays the impostor with a kind of reluctant confidence — his character doesn't want to be a criminal mastermind, he just can't find the exit.
