Synopsis
El Presidente (2020) is an Argentine-Chilean drama series you can watch online on iFILM, built around the real FIFA corruption scandal that broke in 2015. Andrés Parra plays Sergio Jadue, a small-town club director from Chile who stumbles into the presidency of the country's professional football association and straight into the biggest bribery network in the sport's history.
Media deals, sportswear kickbacks, offshore accounts — Jadue is suddenly wading through it all while quietly feeding information to an FBI agent hunting the scheme from the outside. Carla Sousa and Paulina Gaitán round out a sharp cast navigating a world where every handshake has a price. Directors Armando Bo, Gabriel Díaz and Natalia Beristáin keep the tone dry and unsettling — this is corruption as farce, then as tragedy.
