The Plague (La Peste, 2018) is a Spanish crime drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Alberto Rodríguez. Late-16th-century Seville: Spain's main Atlantic port and the departure point for ships heading to the New World, now hit by plague.

In the middle of the outbreak, prominent citizens start turning up dead. Mateo — convicted by the Inquisition — is handed the case in exchange for his freedom and the Church's forgiveness. Rodríguez directed the acclaimed Marshland (La Isla Mínima) and brings the same dense, suffocating intensity to this period setting.
