El Infierno

El Infierno (2010) is a Mexican crime comedy-drama directed by Luis Estrada that you can watch online on iFILM. Benny García gets deported back to his hometown in northern Mexico after twenty years in the US, only to find the whole town running on cartel money — the priest, the mayor, the neighbours, all of them.

There's no honest work to be found. So Benny, played with weary charm by Damián Alcázar, slides in. Small errands first, then guns, girls and cash. Joaquín Cosío as Uncle Melo brings the dark comedy, but the film never lets you forget that this is a story about a state that abandoned its people.
