The Way of the Gun

Parker and Longbaugh are small-time grifters who stumble onto what looks like a straightforward score: kidnap the surrogate mother carrying the child of a powerful, shadowy man and collect the ransom. What they get instead is Joe Sarno (James Caan), a fixer with decades of hard-won experience in cleaning up messes exactly like theirs. Juliette Lewis, Taye Diggs, Scott Wilson and Sarah Silverman fill out the cast as the situation compounds itself into something nobody planned.

McQuarrie structures it like a modern western — codes among criminals, debts that collect with interest, a long and brutal final shootout in the desert.
