Tamara

Tamara (2016) is a French teen comedy from director Alexandre Castagnetti, available to watch online on iFILM. Fifteen-year-old Tamara is self-conscious about her curves and starts a new school year with one mission: to finally shake the "fat girl" label that has followed her for years.

To silence the gossip, she makes a bet with her best friend — she'll date the very first boy who walks through the classroom door. Naturally, that boy turns out to be Diego, the best-looking guy in school. From there the dare spirals: catty classmates pulling dirty tricks, an overprotective mother, a tagalong little sister, and a year Tamara will not forget.

Héloïse Martin carries the film in the title role, in an adaptation of Christian Darasse's Belgian comic that runs on familiar teenage fears — body image, first crushes, the pressure to fit in.
