The World Is Yours

The World Is Yours (Le Monde est à toi, 2018) is a French crime comedy you can watch online on iFILM. François, a small-time Paris dealer, dreams of going straight and buying an ice-cream franchise, but first he signs on for one last job to fund the exit.

The deal drags him to Spain, into the orbit of unhinged Scottish gangsters and a cocaine load that is easier to lose than to deliver. A whole circus clings to him along the way: a card-shark mother who burns through his cash faster than he can earn it, a longtime crush, two bumbling accomplices, and a paranoid ex-mercenary fixated on the Illuminati. Everybody pulls the plan a different way. Karim Leklou plays François as a tired, soft-spoken man at the eye of the storm, while Isabelle Adjani as his mother and Vincent Cassel run wild around him.

This is Romain Gavras's second feature, and his music-video roots show in every frame: saturated color, brash cutting, songs where the silences should be. Energy, irony and a touch of chaos matter more than heist logic here. It suits anyone who likes their crime comedies less about tension and more about charismatic mess.
