Babylon 5: Thirdspace

Babylon 5: Thirdspace (1998) is a sci-fi action TV movie set in the Babylon 5 universe, available to watch online on iFILM. Commander Susan Ivanova is on a routine hyperspace patrol when she finds a colossal alien artifact drifting in the void. They tow it back to the station. Before long, a team of xenoarchaeologists led by a Dr. Trent arrives, eager to be the first to crack whatever secrets the object is holding.

They activate it. That turns out to be a mistake. Station personnel start behaving erratically — telepathic compulsions drive them toward violence and obsession. What the artifact has opened is a gateway to Thirdspace, a dimension that existed before hyperspace itself, inhabited by entities that treat all sentient life as a target. Bruce Boxleitner and Claudia Christian reprise their roles as Sheridan and Ivanova; the film was directed by Jesús Salvador Treviño, who helmed multiple episodes of the original series.
