Synopsis

The Producers (2005) is a musical comedy you can watch online on iFILM. A washed-up Broadway impresario and his timid accountant cook up a scam: raise far more money than a show needs, mount a guaranteed flop, and pocket the leftover cash once the thing closes overnight.

It's late-1950s New York. Max Bialystock (Nathan Lane) hasn't had a hit in years, but he can talk a rock into investing. Leo Bloom (Matthew Broderick) crunches the numbers and secretly longs for the stage. Their surefire disaster: a tasteless musical that gushes over Hitler. Naturally it backfires. Flamboyant director Roger De Bris and Swedish bombshell Ulla (Uma Thurman) somehow turn the catastrophe into the toast of the town.

Director Susan Stroman brought her own Broadway smash — itself born from Mel Brooks' original film — to the screen, with Will Ferrell stealing scenes as a pigeon-loving Nazi playwright. It's loud on purpose and stuffed with gags, made for viewers who love brassy, old-school song-and-dance with zero subtlety. Stream The Producers (2005) online on iFILM.
