Synopsis
Corpse Bride (2005) is Tim Burton's stop-motion fantasy you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Burton and Mike Johnson, the film draws on an old folk legend: a nervous Victorian groom, a grey world above, and a bride who has been waiting underground for someone to say the right words.
Victor (voiced by Johnny Depp) rehearses his wedding vows alone in a forest and accidentally says them over a branch — which turns out to be the hand of Emily (Helena Bonham Carter), a young woman murdered on her own wedding night long ago. His real bride Victoria (Emily Watson) waits at home, not knowing where he has gone. The land of the dead turns out to be far louder and warmer than the world of the living, and Victor has to choose. Danny Elfman wrote the score and voiced the skeleton bandleader Bonejangles.
Released twenty years after Burton launched his gothic animation career with The Nightmare Before Christmas, the film earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature. Stream Corpse Bride (2005) on iFILM.
