Director and star Santiago Segura plays the dad who dishes out advice from the couch while his wife (Toni Acosta) actually does everything. The moment her plane takes off, the apartment slides into disaster: the youngest won't be put down, the middle ones are at war, the eldest is deep in her teens, and homework, meals and laundry all hit at once. Javier drowns in a glass of water in exactly the way he used to mock.

Segura spun this premise into a hit franchise, and the film became one of the most-attended Spanish releases of its year. The humor is loud and simple, no pretensions, but the kids on screen feel like real kids rather than cute props. A safe pick for a whole-family night in.
