Ramona Quimby (Joey King) is a nine-year-old dreamer whose plans tend to fall apart right when she's trying hardest to help. Her schemes keep the whole household on edge, especially her older sister Beezus (Selena Gomez), who is starting high school and just wants to seem grown-up. When their dad loses his job and the family's routine starts to wobble, both sisters find their own ways to hold things together. Ramona is sure that if you believe hard enough, anything can happen.

Director Elizabeth Allen Rosenbaum keeps the film warm and free of preaching, full of small-kid disasters and clumsy first crushes. John Corbett, Bridget Moynahan, Ginnifer Goodwin and Josh Duhamel play the family and friends around the girls. It's an easy pick for watching with younger kids.
