Synopsis
Bāhubali: The Beginning (2015) is an Indian historical action epic from S. S. Rajamouli that you can watch online on iFILM. A baby saved from killers is raised in a mountain village. Grown into the powerful Shivudu, he keeps climbing the colossal waterfall that has haunted him since boyhood, until he reaches a world he never knew existed.
At the top he meets the warrior Avantika and learns the truth: Queen Devasena has spent twenty-five years in chains under the tyrant Bhallaladeva. Shivudu sets out to free her and, piece by piece, uncovers his own bloodline. Prabhas plays the hero, Rana Daggubati his ruthless enemy, Anushka Shetty the captive queen. The scale is enormous, with the siege of Mahishmati fortress eating up nearly half an hour of screen time.
It was the most expensive Indian film of its era and one of the biggest box-office hits in the country's history, setting up its sequel.
