Synopsis
Everybody Knows (Todos lo saben, 2018) is Asghar Farhadi's Spanish-language thriller, available to watch online on iFILM, headlined by Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem. Laura travels from Buenos Aires back to the village outside Madrid where she grew up, bringing her Argentinian husband and kids along for her sister's wedding.
The celebration runs late, the wine flows, the dancing spills into the night. By morning, something has gone badly wrong, and secrets the family spent years politely ignoring suddenly become currency. Farhadi tightens the screws slowly: everyone is hiding something, everyone knows something about someone else, and beneath the warm reunion sit old debts, jealousy and buried resentment. Ricardo Darín plays a local vineyard owner whose history with Cruz's character is the live wire running through the whole film.
The two-time Oscar-winning Iranian director transplants his signature drama of guilt and things left unsaid onto Spanish soil, and it loses none of its grip.
