April Snow

April Snow (외출, 2005) is a Korean melodrama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Hur Jin-ho. In-su and So-yeon are strangers until they find themselves in the same hospital corridor: their spouses, who had been having an affair, are both in critical condition after a car crash.

Bae Yong-joon and Son Ye-jin carry almost the entire film between them — waiting rooms, long pauses, conversations that circle without landing. The two characters begin spending time together less out of attraction than out of shared anger at what just happened to their lives, and the film is patient enough to let that distinction matter. It makes their relationship less tidy than a conventional romance and considerably more true.
