A Normal Family

A Normal Family (보통의 가족, 2024) is a South Korean drama-thriller directed by Heo Jin-ho — watch it online on iFILM. Sul Kyung-gu and Jang Dong-gun play brothers on opposite ends of the moral spectrum: one a ruthless defense attorney who represents killers without flinching, the other a conscientious pediatrician who genuinely believes in doing the right thing.

Then a video surfaces. Two teenagers beating a homeless man half to death. The lawyer recognizes his own daughter among the attackers, the doctor his nephew. The victim is unconscious. Police have no leads yet. Both brothers sit down with their wives — played by Kim Hee-ae and Claudia Kim — and the dinner table becomes a courtroom where the only case on trial is their own integrity. Every justification sounds reasonable until the next one makes the previous one collapse.
