Synopsis
City Hunter (城市獵人, 1993) is a Hong Kong action-comedy you can watch online, starring Jackie Chan as Ryo Saeba, a private eye, playboy and shameless womanizer. Adapted from the cult Japanese manga and directed by Wong Jing, it floors the absurd pedal from the first scene.
A newspaper tycoon hires Ryo to track down his runaway daughter, and the search lands him on a glitzy cruise ship. Snag is, a motley gang of armed terrorists has seized the vessel, leaving Ryo, hungry, lovestruck and forever getting smacked around, to rescue the hostages on his own. From there it spills into pure carnival: a brawl staged inside a movie theater, a desperate hunt for food, and the famous bit where Chan literally morphs into Street Fighter characters, Chun-Li included. Logic is zero. Invention is endless.
This is not solemn kung fu but a live-action cartoon where Chan cuts loose completely. Joey Wong co-stars, and stunt fighter Gary Daniels plays the heavy.
