Synopsis
The Legend (1993) — a Hong Kong action-comedy starring Jet Li — is available to watch online on iFILM. Director Corey Yuen built a 106-minute film around the legendary folk hero Fong Sai-Yuk, a young kung fu master from Canton during the Qing dynasty. The fights are fast and inventive; the comedy is loud and deliberate.
Fong stumbles into a local fighting tournament where the prize is marriage to a wealthy merchant's daughter. The catch: to win, he must first beat the bride's mother — who turns out to be sharper and fiercer than anyone else in the bracket. While Fong is busy with that problem, his father is a secret member of the Red Lotus Society plotting against the Manchu emperor, and the family is suddenly in real danger.
