Synopsis
Vampire's Kiss (1989) is a pitch-black horror comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Nicolas Cage stars as Peter Loew, a New York literary agent whose grip on reality comes apart at the seams. Robert Bierman directs.
After a mysterious woman (Jennifer Beals) shows up one night and seems to bite his neck, Peter decides he is turning into a vampire. He buys cheap plastic fangs, hides from daylight under the couch, sleeps under an upturned crate, and pushes his secretary Alva (María Conchita Alonso) toward a breaking point. Was he ever actually bitten, or is this the meltdown of a lonely yuppie? The film keeps that question wide open on purpose.
It flopped on release and only later became a cult favorite, almost entirely because of Cage's unhinged, swing-for-the-fences performance — yes, including the scene where he eats a real live cockroach, and the rants that live on as memes. If you'd rather watch a mind quietly disintegrate than sit through a straight scare-fest, this is a strange little gem. Stream Vampire's Kiss (1989) online on iFILM.
