Synopsis
Five days, one family, twelve years apart. The First Day of the Rest of Your Life (Le Premier Jour du reste de ta vie, 2008) is Rémi Bezançon's French drama, available to watch online on iFILM. Each chapter freezes on a single date in the life of the Duval family, and from those five snapshots a full portrait of two parents and three kids slowly emerges.
Robert drives a cab (Jacques Gamblin); Marie-Jeanne keeps the home together (Zabou Breitman). A wedding, a breakup, an illness, a departure, a quiet dinner — Bezançon picks one ordinary day from each and lets it reveal how the people under one roof keep changing.
