Synopsis

At first the getaway feels perfect, almost too perfect. From there the film becomes a tense conversation about whether we love a person or the convenient image we've painted of them. The less you know going in, the better.
Charlie McDowell's debut rests on two performers: Mark Duplass and Elisabeth Moss essentially play four roles, shifting tone so smoothly you barely catch it. Ted Danson turns up as the therapist who sends them there. It's a smart, low-budget piece for anyone who likes a high-concept premise pointed straight at a relationship.
