Bulletproof

Bulletproof (1996) is Ernest Dickerson's wisecracking crime action movie, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Small-time crook Archie Moses and his best friend Rock Keats tear around Los Angeles pulling jobs and trusting each other like brothers. That lasts until the night Archie learns Keats is an undercover cop.

His real name is Jack Carter (Damon Wayans), and he spent a year working his way into Archie's circle (Adam Sandler) to reach drug lord Frank Colton, played with menace by James Caan. When the sting collapses, a panicked Archie shoots his friend in the head, and somehow Carter lives. Months later the two are forced back together: Moses will testify against Colton on one condition, that his ex-partner personally drives him to the courthouse. Two men who can't stand each other and can't survive without each other hit the road with the whole cartel on their tail.

This is a buddy movie through and through, riding entirely on the Sandler-Wayans chemistry and their nonstop trash talk. Dickerson, once Spike Lee's cinematographer, keeps the gunplay hard and the tone deliberately goofy. It's short, mean and asks for nothing more than a good popcorn night.
