Prehistoric Planet (Seasons 1–3)
The epic series returns with a new era.
Synopsis
Prehistoric Planet (2022) is an Apple TV+ documentary series you can watch online on iFILM. It carries viewers back 66 million years to the last age of the dinosaurs and treats them not as museum skeletons but as living animals filmed in their own habitats.
Each episode takes a different environment: coasts, deserts, freshwater, ice worlds and the forests of the late Cretaceous. A Tyrannosaurus teaches its young to swim, giant pterosaurs compete for mates, and mosasaurs hunt through open water. David Attenborough narrates, and paleontologists checked every scene against current research, so the feathers, colors and behavior on screen come from evidence rather than guesswork.
Made by the producers of Planet Earth alongside Jon Favreau, with photoreal visual effects from MPC and a score by Hans Zimmer, the show does something unusual: it presents dinosaurs calmly, as ordinary wildlife, and that restraint hits harder than any blockbuster spectacle.
