Coneheads

Coneheads (1993) is Steve Barron's sci-fi comedy you can watch online on iFILM. A cone-skulled alien and his wife crash-land over New Jersey and decide the smartest cover is to pass as an ordinary American household.

Beldar (Dan Aykroyd) came to scout Earth ahead of an invasion, but a U.S. fighter jet knocks his craft out of the sky and strands the couple in suburban Paramus. They've got tall pointed heads, stiff robotic walks, and a habit of devouring entire rolls of toilet paper. The neighbors shrug it off because the family claims to be from France. Beldar takes up appliance repair, daughter Connie grows up and falls for a local boy, and back home the order finally comes through: begin the conquest.

The movie grew out of the classic Saturday Night Live sketches Aykroyd and Jane Curtin had been doing since the late seventies. Watch for Chris Farley, David Spade, Adam Sandler and Phil Hartman in small turns. It's a goofy, good-natured farce for anyone who misses the absurd humor of the nineties.
