Dikkenek

Dikkenek (2006) is a Belgian-French black comedy you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Olivier Van Hoofstadt. In Brussels slang a "dikkenek" is a loudmouth braggart — and Jean-Claude fits the title to a fault.

He butts into everyone's business, hands out advice nobody asked for, and drags his timid pal Stef across the city on a quest to find Stef the woman of his dreams. There's no logic to any of it, just noise and momentum. Along the way they collide with a parade of misfits: the perpetual punching bag Greg, a deranged schoolteacher, the bombshell Natacha, an ice-cold cop, and a butcher far too passionate about his trade. Marion Cotillard and Mélanie Laurent both show up here years before they became international names, with Dominic Pinon adding his trademark grotesque streak.

The humor is crude, filthy and proudly stupid, and that's exactly why the film became a quotable cult favorite in France.
