Baki (2018) is a Japanese martial-arts anime you can watch online on iFILM. Adapted from Keisuke Itagaki's manga, it follows teenage fighter Baki Hanma as he pushes his body past every reasonable limit toward a single goal: beating his father, the strongest man alive.

The setup is blunt. Five condemned killers, each the deadliest hand-to-hand fighter from his own country's prison system, break out at almost the same moment and converge on Tokyo. They share one problem: they have already tasted everything except real defeat, and they want it. Baki and the fighters around him become their targets. What follows is a string of one-on-one bouts built on chokes, broken joints, poison and techniques that abandon physics entirely. The show never pretends to be realistic, with grotesquely muscled bodies and punches that crack concrete.
