Synopsis
Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy (2025) is a true-crime drama series you can watch online on iFILM. What sat beneath his house went unnoticed for the better part of a decade.
The case cracks open when one more local teenager fails to come home, and detectives start linking him to a trail of missing young men that runs back to the early 1970s. The show spends less time on the killings themselves and more on how charm and a model-citizen reputation kept suspicion away for so long. Michael Chernus plays Gacy, with Gabriel Luna, James Badge Dale and Michael Angarano alongside him.
The directing was handled by a team led by Patrick Macmanus, no stranger to grounded, detail-driven true crime. It is staged with restraint, the horror coming from the ordinariness rather than from shock shots. A good fit for viewers who watch true crime to understand how a predator hides in plain sight.
