Deception

Deception (2008) is a New York thriller you can watch online on iFILM, with Ewan McGregor and Hugh Jackman trading places between predator and prey. A lonely auditor gets pulled into a secret world of anonymous hookups, swapped phones and a missing fortune.

Jonathan McQuarry drifts from one corporate office to the next, sleeping among other people's spreadsheets. Then lawyer Wyatt Bose befriends him and hands him a key to an underground club where strangers meet by phone, no names exchanged. Jonathan falls for a woman called only S, played by Michelle Williams. Soon there's money gone, an identity that isn't his, and a body the police are asking about.

Director Marcel Langenegger keeps the audience one step behind, letting each reveal reshape who was using whom. Dante Spinotti's camerawork turns a glassy, cold Manhattan into part of the trap.
