Short Circuit 2

Short Circuit 2 (1988) is a family sci-fi comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Robot Johnny 5 leaves the countryside for the big city to lend a hand to his inventor friend Ben Jahrvi.

Ben has started cranking out toy versions of the famous robot, but only the real Johnny 5 actually thinks and feels. Wide-eyed and trusting, he wanders the streets soaking up slang, marveling at neon signs and believing whatever anyone tells him. Crooks notice. They want his nimble mechanical hands for a jewel heist that runs straight through the bank where Ben's girlfriend works. Fisher Stephens returns as Ben, with Tim Blaney once again voicing the curious machine.

Director Kenneth Johnson, of the cult series V, swaps the rural setting of the original for urban chaos, and the move pays off with sharper gags and a robot who carries the whole picture.
