Synopsis
The Black Windmill (1974) is Don Siegel's spy thriller you can watch online on iFILM. A British intelligence officer played by Michael Caine learns that his young son has been kidnapped. The ransom is uncut diamonds, and the clock is already running.
Worse, there's no one to lean on. His own superiors suspect him of playing both sides, his colleagues pull away, and a traitor is clearly working from inside the service. So he stops following orders and hunts the kidnappers himself — through London, the French coast and the abandoned mill that gives the film its name.
Siegel, the director behind Dirty Harry, shoots it lean and cold, trading bombast for tightening pressure and the hero's hard calculation. Caine plays a cornered man with nothing left to lose.
