Braven

Braven (2018) is a hard-edged action thriller from Lin Oeding, and you can watch online on iFILM. Jason Momoa stars as logger Joe Braven, who runs a small timber operation and lives with his wife and young daughter near the rugged US-Canada border. A stash of hidden heroin, dumped in his hunting cabin by accident, drags him into a fight he never asked for.

Joe takes his aging father, whose memory is slipping, up to the remote lodge for a quiet weekend. Then the drug runners arrive to collect their product and decide every witness has to go. Snow, cliffs and dense forest become the battleground as father and son defend the family with axes, a bow and whatever the wilderness hands them. Stephen Lang plays the old man, Garret Dillahunt the ruthless dealer, and Jill Wagner Joe's wife.

The setup is lean and honest: one man, his land, and crooks who badly misread the owner. For once Momoa swings at real-world villains instead of a fantasy throne, and his sheer physicality earns its keep. Best suited to fans of brutal backwoods survival action in the late-Rambo vein.
