Synopsis
Saint Maud (2020) is a psychological horror film from writer-director Rose Glass, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Released by A24, this British debut runs on one actress, one chilly seaside town, and a faith that curdles into something far darker.
Maud is a private nurse who has recently found God. Her patient is Amanda, a once-celebrated dancer now bedbound by terminal illness and bored by everyone around her. Quiet, devout Maud starts hearing what she believes is God's voice, and she becomes convinced she was sent to save the dying woman's soul whatever the cost. Morfydd Clark holds the screen almost alone as devotion slides into obsession, and the film deliberately blurs whether her visions are divine or the work of a mind coming apart.
It clocks in at a tight 84 minutes and ends on an image that's hard to shake once the credits roll. If you prefer slow-burn dread built on belief and isolation over cheap jump scares, this hits exactly that nerve. Stream Saint Maud (2020) online on iFILM.
