Synopsis
Desperate Hours (1990) is a psychological thriller directed by Michael Cimino — stream it online on iFILM. Mickey Rourke plays escaped convict Michael Bosworth, who forces his way into a suburban family's home with two accomplices and turns their lives upside down. The film is a remake of William Wyler's 1955 version, both based on Joseph Hayes's novel and his own Broadway play.
The father of the house, Cornell (Anthony Hopkins), figures out the rules fast: keep calm, give the man something, do not give him a reason to snap. Bosworth is not simply dangerous — he is erratic, and Rourke leans into that volatility completely. Kelly Lynch and Mimi Rogers add another layer of pressure as the two women caught between the criminal's demands and Cornell's controlled resistance.
