Synopsis
The Little Death (2014) is Josh Lawson's Australian black comedy, available to watch online on iFILM. A handful of couples in a quiet Sydney suburb work up the nerve to confess their most awkward sexual fantasies.
Each thread is its own kink and its own cringe. One man can only get aroused by his partner's tears; a wife dreams of role-play she can't quite voice; another couple drifts into a risky game involving sleep; and the closing story, a deaf woman and the sign-language interpreter relaying a phone-sex call, turns out to be the tenderest of the bunch. Lawson wrote, directed and stars in it himself.
The humor walks a tightrope, swinging from genuinely funny to openly uncomfortable the moment a fantasy bruises the real person in the room.
