Synopsis

Fred (Vince Vaughn) is a charming screw-up, perpetually broke and resentful of his little brother Nick. When his latest scheme collapses, he flies up to the North Pole to beg for cash and ends up stuck working the floor alongside the elves. Meanwhile an exacting efficiency expert (Kevin Spacey) hovers over the whole workshop, hunting for any excuse to shut the miracle factory down for good. Paul Giamatti plays Santa himself — tired, kind, and far from a perfect brother too.
Dobkin (Wedding Crashers) lined up a solid comic bench: Rachel Weisz, Kathy Bates, Elizabeth Banks, Miranda Richardson. Under all the holiday tinsel sits a plain story about two brothers who are long overdue a real talk. Easy seasonal viewing for anyone who wants warmth and a few good laughs, nothing heavier.
